June '24 Up 41% Versus Last Year
Highlights:
The significant growth in U.S. solar power generation continues in both utility-scale and behind-the-meter sources
YTD utility-scale solar generation is higher by 37% compared with the same point of 2023
U.S. L-48 utility-scale solar generation in June was 22,532 GWHrs, up 7.9% versus last month and up 40.7% versus last year
Last 12-month U.S. utility-scale solar generation was 177.0 TWHrs versus 77.7 TWHrs of small-scale
Through April LTM utility-scale solar generation was up 21.3% versus BTM up 20.3%
Total utility-scale solar capacity is 111,497 megawatts
Total small-scale solar capacity is 49,743 megawatts
Texas officially surpassed California in utility-scale solar capacity in the EIA dataset in July 2024, although California still maintains a sizable lead in combined utility-scale and BTM capacity
