U.S. EV Sales Monthly

Highlights:

• EnerWrap wrangles DOE/Argonne Labs EV sales data for insights into the US EV market

• The latest data is for May 2025

• Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) sales were 102,170, up 5.9% vs last month and down 2.5% compared with last year

• Plug-in-Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) sales were 28,892, down 6.5% vs last month and down 0.2% compared with last year

• Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) sales were 194,119, up 2.8% vs last month and up 39.6% compared with last year

• Electric Vehicle (EV) sales were 325,181, up 2.8% vs last month and up 19.2% compared with last year

• Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) sales were 1,141,414, down 0.4% vs last month and down 1.9% compared with last year

• Light-Duty Vehicle (LDV) sales were 1,466,595, up 0.3% vs last month and up 2.1% compared with last year

• BEV sales showed the slowest growth in 4.5 years
