Prices Higher Despite Storage Overhang Getting Larger

Weekly Summary

U.S. Lower-48 natural gas inventories came in at 3,969 Bcf, lower by 3 Bcf on the week.  Lower-48 gas storage is 3.7% higher than last year and 6.9% higher than the five-year average.

Compared to last year, gas storage in the MountainWest Region is 14.9% higher, and 31.5% above the five-year average.  Meanwhile, the East Region is 1.4% higher than last year, and 3.4% above the five-year average.

Salt storage is 4.8% higher than last year and 5.4% higher than the five-year average.  Non-salt gas inventories are 3.9% higher than last year and 5.6% higher than the five-year average.
