Storage Overhang Continues to Improve

Weekly Summary

U.S. Lower-48 natural gas inventories came in at 3,347 Bcf, higher by 13 Bcf on the week.  Lower-48 gas storage is 6.3% higher than last year and 9.3% higher than the five-year average.

Compared to last year, gas storage in the MountainWest Region is 23.9% higher, and 39.6% above the five-year average.  Meanwhile, the East Region is 0.7% lower than last year, and 4.3% above the five-year average.

Salt storage is 10.8% higher than last year and 14.6% higher than the five-year average.  Non-salt gas inventories are 5.4% higher than last year and 7.4% higher than the five-year average.
