Solar Dominating
Highlights:
Solar continues to dominate capacity additions
As of April 2024:
86.4% of planned U.S. capacity is Solar, Wind or Battery.
There is a remaining 51,146 MW of planned capacity additions this year and 50,217 MW scheduled for next year.
Texas and California comprise 70.0% of the U.S. planned power capacity pipeline.
Solar additions are 59.7% and 52.3% of capacity additions for the rest of the year and next year, respectively.
