U.S. Planned Power Generation Capacity

Highlights:

• The latest EIA data as of July 2024 shows total planned U.S. generation of 178,197 MW

• 88.0% of planned U.S. capacity is Solar, Wind or Battery

• There is a remaining 39,710 MW of planned capacity additions this year and 51,134 MW scheduled for next year

• 34.0% of U.S. planned generation is located in Texas

• Texas and California comprise 43.4% of the U.S. planned power capacity pipeline

• Solar additions are 49.3% and 61.8% of capacity additions for the rest of the year and next year, respectively
