Prices Remain Depressed Despite Improvement in Storage Surplus
Weekly Summary
U.S. Lower-48 natural gas inventories came in at 3,231 Bcf, higher by 22 Bcf on the week. Lower-48 gas storage is 8.2% higher than last year and 15.5% higher than the five-year average.
Compared to last year, gas storage in the MountainWest Region is 32.8% higher, and 44.4% above the five-year average. Meanwhile, the SouthCentral Region is 2.5% higher than last year, and 13.4% above the five-year average.
Salt storage is 1.0% higher than last year and 16.9% higher than the five-year average. Non-salt gas inventories are 3.0% higher than last year and 12.2% higher than the five-year average.
